Job Title: Video EditorReporting to: Head of Post-ProductionWorking Hours: Full time 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (Flexibility required to work weekends, bank holidays and additional hours)Salary: Competitive based on knowledge, skills & experience Company: Islam Channel Limited Location: Head Office – IG2 7BS We are looking for an experienced Video Editor to work across multiple platforms. As a Video Editor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual narrative of our television shows and ensuring the highest standard of editing for our audience. You will work closely with the post-production team, producers and directors to bring the vision of our content to life. The ideal candidate will be results driven and thrive in a busy, fast paced environment. The Role To be able to collaborate with producers, directors, and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives To edit raw footage into polished and engaging video content for television shows, commercials, promotions, and other related projects. To troubleshoot technical issues related to video editing software, hardware and storage systems A solid understanding of video post-production workflows, including colour grading, audio mixing and visual effects The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from producers and directors To have familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects software such as Adobe After Effects Working within a dynamic team, but predominantly working autonomously, taking control of projects from start to finish. Creatinga 'rough cut' (or assembly edit) of the programmeand determining the exact cutting for the next andfinal stages Overseeing the quality andprogress of audio and video engineering and editing Understand and follow briefs, outline of footage and/or shot list Assembling all raw footage Ingest rushesand audio, synchronising and storing them into files Suggesting or selectingmusic Online editing - finalise technical aspects suchas, correcting faulty footage, grading and colouring andadding special effects. Skills: Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Media Encoder/relevant equivalent tools. Strong working knowledge of video editing and design software such as Premiere, Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suites, Avid is essential. Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail Strong understanding and experience in video editing and technical aspects of the software Creative knowledge of stylistic trends in broadcast and social media Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and work under pressure. Dedicated, punctual and have a strong work ethic. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work within a team Qualifications: Degree or Postgraduate Qualification in Media, Computer Editing, Film/Video Editing or other relevant qualification Experience: 3+ years of video/media production and post-production experience, filming and editing video content for online platforms
